Developed on a part of a 55 acre site near the town centre, the 20,000 square feet square feet store opened on 4 March 2013 to enhance the retail offering for those living and working in and around Larkhall.
Developed as a modern and high quality retail store, the retail scheme features approximately 370 car parking spaces, including provision for parents with children and customers with disabilities. Focusing on the environmental issues, the scheme also features a recycling facility for the customers and the general public to recycle paper, bottles, plastics and clothes. The scheme also includes a petrol filling station to deliver low cost fuel.
The car park is specifically designed to serve both the Asda store and Larkhall High Street, making it easily accessible from the town centre. Fulfilling the needs of the people of the area, the store features George clothing range and Asda’s own label produce including our Smart Price, Good For You, Organics, Fairtrade and Extra Special ranges.
In addition to the new food store, the scheme proposes to provide a mixed-use scheme surrounding the store, which will include 367 residential units, a children’s nursery, a 60-bed care home, a medical centre, a restaurant and associated car parking.
Being developed in phases, the mixed use development aims at meeting the deficiencies within the local area in terms of both housing and community facilities.
