Business Wire reported that the 80,000 square foot resort is the 11th hotel to become part of the Waldorf Astoria Collection. The move is part of the luxury brand’s strategy to expand into key worldwide leisure markets.

Comprised of 23 waterfront acres, the hotel, which has undergone a massive renovation, has an 18-story tower with 29 suites and 395 upscale guestrooms. Reflecting a blend of casual elegance with upscale Florida style, the remodeled guestrooms have silky window treatments, hand-selected fabrics, customized furniture and oversized closets. The bathrooms feature a separate oversized bathtub and glass-enclosed shower and five fixture arrangements.

The resort’s meeting space, lounge space and lobby have all been totally refurbished. The hotel has a new banquet facility, with floor to ceiling windows as well as two additional ballrooms and 27 breakout and meeting rooms.

Remodeled by Bob Barry, there are 50 self-contained bungalows located next to the resort that have private areas for relaxation designed in green, cream and gray colors.

A new Strip House steak restaurant has been added to the resort as part of its renovation. Designed by David Rockwell interior architect, the restaurant has vintage Studio Manasse images and silk furnishings.

The Golden Door Spa with conventional Japanese architectural elements features a meditation labyrinth, relaxation pool, and gardens.

Other hotels that have been added to the Waldorf Astoria Brand include The Reach Resort, Waldorf Astoria Collection, situated in Key West, Florida and Casa Marina Resort and Beach Club, Waldorf Astoria Collection.
