The revised design has retained the sculptural form and multiple protrusions of the structure while scaling back the design. Initial designs of the structure were rejected as the planners thought that the animated advertising panels would distract drivers from the busy M4 road nearby. The characteristic LED ‘shroud’ of the building has also been retained.

The 49.5m high Octopus complex will feature offices, a public sky garden and advertising space. The architects have lowered the height of the building by 3m and increased the volume of office space from 2,745 to 4,825 square metres.

A number of sustainable measures have also been proposed in the revised designs including green walls, a roof garden and extensive landscaping on the ground level, solar shading, CHP, borehole cooling and rainwater harvesting.
