The 70-door centre is claimed to be the firm’s first building to bag the LEED certification owing to installation of several eco-friendly facilities. The building has been equipped with highly-efficient HVAC system, windows, lighting fixtures, as well as controls which contribute to a slash in energy usage. It also comprises updated insulation facility for its wall and roof which further reduces energy consumption.
The facility sports a unique landscape which phases out irrigation requirements and in turn, reduces water wastage. Use of low-VOC paints, coatings and carpet add to the building’s sustainability. Other green features of the centre include utilisation of 39% of reclaimed materials during the construction process and procuring 63% of construction materials within 500 miles of the project area. The facility has reaped energy savings of 19.7% and water savings of 34% over traditional buildings through employing sustainable measures.
