The project, developed by Whiting Turner, will be carried out in phases. Phase I will involve creation of four ORs and a supply room while the second phase will include demolition and substitution of the existing ORs. The first phase is slated to be completed within 12-18 months and the second phase within 24-32 months.

The size of all ORs will be raised from 400 to 600 square feet per room or more with four ORs possessing dimensions of 800 square feet. The expansion will help install the da Vinci Surgical System Robot to facilitate minimally invasive and robotic prostate, bariatric and GYN surgery.

There will be creation of an addition spanning 17,520 square feet and encompassing two floors. The addition will house the spacious ORs. Work also involves a makeover of 13,300 gross square feet of the current hospital area with overhaul of the building’s heating, ventilation, air conditioning and power systems.

The project will lead to a 41% increase in the footprint of the ORs. The PRMC Foundation will help raise $3 million for the project.
