The new hospital will be a 108-bed facility, which will be developed adjacent to the Fredericksen Outpatient Center on their Cumberland Campus. The scheme has been designed by Stantec Architecture & Engineering LLC.

The new hospital will be a five-storey facility, which will encompass a total area of 188,000 square feet. It will house acute medical and surgical care, intensive care, cardiology, orthopedics, operation room suite, pharmacy, chronic disease unit, transitional care, an emergency department, food service & cafeteria and a central utility plant. The facility will have private patient rooms.

The construction team working on the scheme comprises Quandel Construction Group Incorporated and Dawood Engineering. Construction on the scheme is scheduled for completion by May 2014.

The new facility will entail an outlay of $100 million and forms an integral part of the PinnacleHealth’s $150 million planned capital expenditure for its Vision 2017 program, which also includes expansion and renovation work at Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Lower Paxton Township and Harrisburg Hospital.
