Said to become the finest collegiate football facility in the country, the Kyle Field stadium will be renovated by preserving the tradition and iconic elements of Kyle Field while defining the future of Aggie football.
The design of Kyle Field will feature a brick, glass and limestone façade along with numerous plazas. It will be surrounded by walkways that will celebrate the legacy of the team, students and alumni.
The redevelopment also includes the expansion of seating capacity from 82,589 to 102,500 seats. To enhance the noise level and intimidation factor at Kyle Field, the field is being lowered and seating is being moved closer to the action.
To create a more comfortable, intimate and amplified fan experience, canopies have been added on both the East and West sidelines. Each detail evokes the history, from the plazas on three sides of Kyle Field that celebrate the storied traditions to the four activation towers that invite people in and bring fans together on all levels of the stadium while reinforcing the strong sense of pride.
Apart from that the renovation also includes state of the art concessions, merchandising options and a 30,000 square feet Hall of Champions. Additionally 120 suites, a private club that services a 3,900 seat field box area and three different types of loge boxes will be included to provide a an enhanced viewing environment to the spectators.
The east side of the stadium will continue to be the home of Texas A&M’s student section while the north side of the stadium will be home to Kyle Field Park.
Preparation for construction will begin in August of 2013 and will be completed prior to the 2015 season.
