Norman Stephens, the president and CEO of the Portneuf Medical Center (PMC), said that the project will increase the size of the hospital. The expansion will be done to the emergency room, operating rooms, and patient rooms. They will also be made more efficient.
The two floors of the hospital are approximately ready for finishing work, but five more floors needs to be constructed, which will add 187 rooms.
With the construction of the new building, the existing building will also undergo renovation and makeover to match the new construction.
Portneuf Medical Center provides health care services needed by the people of Eastern Idaho in collaboration with other providers and community resources.
