Built in 1930, the renovated 45,000-seat Amon G. Carter Stadium will provide a new game day experience to the fans by providing suites, club seats and improved fan amenities in many areas; new and more comfortable seating; wider concourses; new and improved restrooms and concession areas; handicap accessible accommodations; elevators and escalators; and new lighting. Additionally, the stadium will also feature a new press box.

The stadium incorporates history of Fort Worth and the Texas Christian University throughout. Depicting art deco in its design, the renovation offers towering facades, which is the arched elegance of a bygone era.

The stadium features glowing purple-accented lighting on the walls. Outside the west side gates, geographic markers commemorate Fort Worth, circa 1930. A streak of blue light signifies the Trinity River, with markers paying homage to the city’s railroad heritage and historic Fort Worth streets. Near the founders’ monuments, bluish-purple solar-powered lights glows from the ground.

The year 2012 marks TCU’s 82nd season playing at Amon G. Carter Stadium. The 2012 season is also TCU’s inaugural season in the Big 12 conference. The renovated stadium opened on 8 September 2012.
