The total renovation cost of the project will be approximately $6.36 million which is being staged in four phases. The first phase includes the medical and surgical floors renovation.

The renovation plan includes providing new furniture for all rooms, space-efficient flat screen televisions with remotes, wall-mounted computer workstations in each room, two sinks, one in patient bathrooms and a hand washing station for the care team, updated, wider doors to improve the ease of patient transfer, and updated nursing stations.

CHC has a current total bed count of 97, which will decrease to 86 post renovation. All rooms will be converted from semi-private to private with the ability to convert some rooms back to semi-private rooms when the bed count is high.

Post renovation, the centre will feature two hospice dedicated rooms with larger accommodations for family members, nurse director office locations that are convenient for family visits, and central heating and cooling systems with individual patient control.

The renovation is expected to take 22 to 24 months.
