Designed by Boston-based CBT Architects, the renovation project involves reconfiguring the hotel’s first floor and addition of a third dining venue – The Reserve.
The hotel’s grand lobby spans 6,000 square feet and is being redesigned to feature an open, contemporary floor plan with stylish reception areas and a European-style champagne lounge named The Reserve. The design has altered the space by shifting pre-existing meeting spaces and offices in order to create generous, modern entrances and passageways. Raised ceilings and improved natural light breathes new life into the historic building.
The Reserve will feature mixed-height dining and conversation tables encased by custom-made velvet banquets and tailored high-back chairs. It will serve continental breakfast and dining. It will also offer Tiffin afternoon tea, Boston’s first traditional English tea service in partnership with the Wedgwood collection.
Housed in Boston’s former Federal Reserve Bank building, The Langham is a national architectural landmark. It also features Café Fleuri, BOND restaurant |lounge, Chuan Body + Soul spa, and health club and indoor pool facilities. The Langham also offers Boston’s award-winning Chocolate Bar on Saturdays and City Brunch on Sundays. Guests can also enjoy privileged and complimentary use of the hotel’s traditional London-style pink taxi in line with the Langham’s long-standing British heritage.
The work is expected to be completed around Labor Day weekend, 2012.
