Salt Lake Stadium, the world’s second largest facility by capacity has planned to install INR50 million ($988,455) worth artificial grass.
According to Anil Kumar, director of FieldTurf Tarkett, this is only the second artificial grass football field in India, the first one at Chowgule College at Goa, was well received by players, coaches and administrators, stated The Hindu.
The artificial grass comes in maintenance-free and has a life-span of about 25 years.
