The new school is being built beside the old one and will include modern features like a geothermal heating and cooling system, where water circulates through pipes beneath the earth’s surface to transport continually moderate, subterranean temperatures into buildings and cutting energy costs.
The school will also feature a big screen in the commons/cafeteria area and a new collegiate-size gym with a seating capacity of 1600.
The old school will be converted to a playground, connected to the new by an elevated, enclosed walkway.
The new school is expected to be completed by October 2009.
