The project has been designed by a collaboration between architect Cullen Pitts and McMillan Pazdan Smith architecture company, and developed by Greenville’s Harper Construction. Work included overhaul and expansion of the existing terminal building with creation of nine office areas for rent, a large lobby space featuring historic aviation photographs and a lounge and a quiet room dedicated for pilots on the third storey. The three floors of the renovated terminal will accommodate one conference room in every level.

The airport features a digital clock resembling the old city clock following the facelift. The remodelled facility also comprises additional hangars, a new parking space, a plaza at runway level as well as an upgraded ground. Further, it has now been adorned with floor markings which replicate the appearance of a runway during a plane landing. The look is complemented by various artistic pieces and artifacts.
