British design and furniture brand Tamart has unveiled the new Highgate High Stool, designed by Amos Goldreich.
The bar stool features a pill-shaped angled backrest, gently curved stile tops, and a naturally dyed leather sling seat.
The stool extends the Highgate Seating Collection and is suited to both bars and counters, with or without backrests. The dimensions for the Counter Stool are W46cm×D46cm×H88cm, with a seat height of 65cm. The Barstool measures W46cm×D46cm×H98cm, with a seat height of 75cm. The frame is made from solid FSC timber, available in natural ash, natural oak, and black stained ash. The colour options include chestnut, black and natural.
The stool features a lightly padded leather seat with contrast waxed stitching that is tension-fitted, allowing for adjustment of comfort. To limit the usual stretching of the natural vegetable tanned leather, it has been backed with natural canvas, and both sides are attached to a new tensioning system. This system is fully integrated and concealed within the side rails of the chair, enabling customers to adjust the seat to the desired tension with an Allen key. The mechanism allows for a reset of the seat’s tension and enables users to change the angle of the seat: slack at the back and tight at the front edge for a relaxed position, or tight at the back and slack at the front edge for a more upright posture.
