Canadian/American design studio Yabu Pushelberg and Dutch furniture designers Leolux have collaborated on a new lounge chair that appears to spring to life from a fountainhead.
Sen is a sculptural form featuring two inverted ‘U’ silhouettes that evoke ‘the rhythmic movement of cascading water as it flows upward, downward, and side to side’.
The channelled structure creates depth and movement with simple lines that are said to ‘betray the complexity of craft needed to achieve them’.
The chair is available in a range of shades, from neutral palettes to bold scene stealers.
‘Sen is a statement piece – bold, confident and impossible to ignore,’ said George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg, the co-founders of Yabu Pushelberg.
‘It has a presence that demands attention, embodying Leolux’s expressive design DNA.’
They continued: ‘This chair is our extroverted side as designers; we embraced personality in every detail. In deep charcoal and black, it exudes sophistication, but with colour, it transforms – becoming more vibrant, dynamic and full of life.
‘However, you style it, Sen makes itself known.’
