The renovation project is aimed at upgrading the thermal performance without altering the external appearance of the Grade A office buildings. Fifty4 Hagley Road consists of two tower blocks of 17-storeys and eight storeys, which are connected at ground level with a communal reception, services such as a café and main entrance doors.
The project involves replacement of 1600 windows of both the tower blocks. All windows are fixed lights and span floor to ceiling height with large double glazed units. The largest window is 1m wide by 2.2m high.
The new windows of the building will offer superior resistance to the weather, including extreme wind loadings due to the high rise nature of the towers. The company anticipates completing the replacement of the windows in September 2012.
