The Noel-Baker School and St Martins School project included the rebuilding and co-location of Noel-Baker mainstream secondary school with St Martins School, which is a special education school.

The new Noel-Baker School includes 10 science rooms, humanities, arts, music and maths areas, and winter gardens while St Martins School features external terrace areas, a sensory room, and garden.

Both schools will share few facilities, including vocational teaching spaces, a fitness suite, a dance studio, and a sports hall which will be open for community activities.

The Derby Moor Community Sports College n Littleover has been largely rebuilt at a cost of £20m over the past two years.

The facility had undergone extensive remodeling and refurbishment works, with open plan teaching areas to accommodate more practical and vocational lessons.

Ian Woosey, Board Director Derby City BSF Partnership said “It is extremely rewarding to observe the new schools providing an excellent environment for education and being enjoyed by staff and pupils alike. This has been achieved through genuine partnership working with Derby City Council, the school staff and all the stakeholders.”

The Derby City BSF Partnership project involves the delivery of a capital investment programme for schools in Derby in partnership with Derby City Council.

Balfour Beatty Education was appointed as preferred bidder for the scheme in June 2010. Balfour Beatty will invest equity of £3 million into the 25-year concession.

All construction and facilities management will be carried out by Balfour Beatty while ICT services across all the schools will be delivered in conjunction with RM, supplier of ICT services and solutions to the UK education sector.
