10 finalists will be selected by a jury of six experts. Among these, two will get to work with world-famous designers on the creation of prototypes.
Between February and March 2013, the chosen two will be work with mentors, product designer Sam Hecht and architect Junya Ishigami, and will receive financial support to cover prototype and production costs.
All 10 finalists will be invited to present their work at Milan Design Week 2013. The two full prototypes along with panel displays of the eight other finalists will be presented to the media and public in the Lexus exhibition halls.
The theme of the Lexus Design Award 2012 is ‘motion’. Through this theme, Lexus welcomes ‘innovators that share the Lexus design philosophy values and are eager to provide their original perspective’.
