The new FBO spans 10,712 square feet, and includes all-new crew and passenger lounges, a state-of-the-art business centre and video conferencing facility, two client meeting rooms, private screening facilities, and ultra-modern showers and changing rooms. The new FBO design uses neutral tones and a modern feel, and is expected to be replicated across more of its FBOs around the world.

The refurbishment involved an estimated investment between £1-2 million ($1.6-3.2 million). It was aimed at bringing Universal Aviation’ quality of services at Stansted Airport in line with the changing profile of customers, who make quick short-haul flights to the London area and require more amenities for both crew and passengers. Jonathan Howells, regional vice president, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. added that an enhanced facility at London Stansted is important as it is not only home to their ground-support business, but also to the 24/7 European Operations Centre, which offers trip facilitation within Europe and globally.

Universal Aviation has been present in Europe for almost 40 years. In the last two years, the company added two new European Universal Aviation locations in Venice and Girona, Spain, bringing the total in Europe to 11. It also acquired Air Culinaire, and now has two owned kitchens in London and Paris.
