Located on Chatham Street, L7, in the south-west corner of the campus, the £34 million ($54.07 million), 749-unit scheme offers a mix of en-suite study bedrooms, studio apartments, two-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom duplex ‘loft’ apartments.
The project comprises two horseshoe-shaped buildings with a central landscaped courtyard, which is open as a public space during the day and provides secure grounds in the evening. Apart from that the scheme also offers a 250-seat restaurant, a café and retail accommodation.
In order to meet the sustainability standards, the project has incorporated various green features like a grey water system, which provides water for toilet flushing, solar water heating systems, LED lighting which has been used for low maintenance energy efficiency in the common areas, and air source heat pumps to heat and cool the student study bedrooms.
Brown and green roofs and the brickwork package, which utilises more than one million bricks to mirror the traditional brickwork of surrounding buildings, have been installed in the external areas.
UK-based Ocon Construction Ltd. has developed the Vine Court scheme. the developer is also constructing a £50 million ($79.5205) Crown Place project, the second student living development for the University of Liverpool.
