Created to accommodate 1,200 pupils aged between 11-16 years, the £21.5 million ($32.01 million) design and build contract includes a new school block and linkway, and refurbishment of the sports hall and existing school blocks. Apart from that the project also includes hard and soft landscaping.

Achieving BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating, the project has used thermal modelling techniques in new and refurbished areas to maximise cooling through natural ventilation. In addition, the use of natural lighting will provide well-lit, more energy-efficient facilities with reduced life cycle costs.

Completed within two and a half years, the project was developed in four phases.
