The car parking space encompasses several floors and possesses a capacity to house 667. The new parking lot has enhanced the overall parking capacity of the facility to 1650, an increase of 34%.
The new parking area features a living green wall, electric vehicle charging points, and a secure zone for parking bicycles. It also incorporates a landscaped plaza which is adorned with a sculpture created by a local artist. The sculpture measures ten metres in height and is formed from an oak tree. Among its other features are wheel chair accessible facilities, help points as well as a covered walkway which leads to the entryway of the hospital. The number of blue badge zones have been enhanced to thrice the existing number.
In addition, the parking space has been equipped with various renewable energy sources including a silent wind turbine and photo voltaic solar panels which account for 10% of the facility’s renewable electricity.
The car parking lot has already won the Park Mark Safer Parking Award.
