The new design was presented to the North Olmsted Municipal Planning and Design Commission on July 22. It involved relocating the present food court to the north side of the mall in the of Dick’s Sporting Goods area.
It will also be refurbished to include two new retail outlets, while the existing food outlets will move to other parts, from its previous location above the food court and mall offices.
The building facade and the exterior of the mall will also be upgraded for the new tenants. A new entrance will be created near the Sears outlet and the entrance near the dick sports center will be improved. One of the tenants will also place its sign on top of the penthouse-like structure of the mall.
The Planning and Design Commission also presented some recommendations to the design, which will be submitted to the Board of Zoning Appeals. Henceforth, it will come back to the commission for a final reconsideration, prior to it being sent to the North Olmsted City Council.
Following the approval, Westerfield official propose to begin the remodeling later this year.
