Plavis Design and Duravit are both launching new ranges of modern bathroom fixtures that incorporate wood into the design.
Duravit’s new Fogo range uses ash olive wood to enhance a stripped down natural look to its bathroom décor. Pieces such as the furniture console or vanity unit are available in a variety of wood finishes including American Walnut, Macassar, American Cherry Tree and Bleached Oak.
Plavis Design chose a combination of ceramic, wood and chrome materials to blend in what it calls an ‘Italian nature-meets-technology collection’. Its sinks are unconventional in shape, from the rectangular Tab sink to the sleek slant of the ceramic Net sink but all incorporate a wooden base. Even the bath is made with an entirely wood finish to tie the suite together.
Both companies pride themselves on the amount of storage space they provide whilst keeping a clean and modern style with clean lines and shapes. It is a step away from more traditional bathroom suites and designs which are likely to get both groups recognized.
The two well established companies, Duravit with almost 200 years of bathroom history, are international firms designing and selling products throughout the world.
