Who
Matt Dixon is founder and director of Form – a modern bespoke manufacturing firm with traditional craftsmanship at the heart of the business. It creates ‘practical and stylish’ designs using traditional and sustainable methods, launching late last year with its first collection showcased in March. ‘We have plans to add to our range and create more beautiful pieces by using our incredible workshops,’ says Dixon. ‘We are located in Yorkshire and are often asked if there is anywhere in the south where our designs can be seen ahead of purchase, so would like to get a selection of our products into London and Cotswold-based showrooms. We also want to develop our bespoke manufacturing capabilities.’
Why
Dixon has a decorative antiques business, TallBoy Interiors, which has been successfully running since 2015. During this time, he has met people who share his passion for well-made, traditional furniture. ‘At the end of 2023, I decided to set up Form to run alongside TallBoy Interiors,’ explains Dixon. ‘[This] has allowed me to design and produce my own collection of furniture and also offer a comprehensive and bespoke service, developing specially commissioned furniture to private and trade clients alike. Form has now become a family business, with my parents and wife taking on various roles, which I love.’
Where
Brokkr Side Tables: Our most popular piece. We have various designs: the original and the inverted, as well as our nesting set. These are made entirely by our award-winning Yorkshirebased blacksmith who creates each one by hand and even had to develop specific tools for this design. We have already shipped the pieces all around the UK and to the US.

Jaipur Sofa: Our Jaipur sofa was inspired by an original Anglo-Indian sofa we found on our travels to Europe in 2022. Our frame maker hand-shaped the back curves, which is an incredible skill and makes the sofa so distinctive. We designed this to be the perfect socialising sofa, with its large size allowing four to five people to sit on it comfortably.

Pendant Lights: We have worked closely with a specialist workshop in Venice to design and handcraft five pendant lights in our collection. The two globe lights come in a copper or Italian black metal finish with solid beech detail. The elegant blown glass pendant lights come in a variety of styles, with chrome and amber detailing, and look striking individually or as a group.
