Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, Canada, commenced its expansion project after a ground breaking ceremony on July 30, 2009. The project, which began on August 3, is expected to be achieved over a period of two years.

The expanded premises will feature suite-style private patient rooms, providing enough space for both patient and family, new operating rooms, and a six-bed recovery room.

The hospital will also include new obstetric and gynecology unit, six labor recovery rooms, and two female-only rooms. The present obstetric and gynecology unit is to be converted into an eight-bed intensive care unit.

As of now, the hospital has received a grant of $100,000 from the Hospital Auxiliary Board, for the renovation project.
