Heery International, the full-service architecture and interior design firm headquartered in Georgia, has completed the construction of the student services facility which is the campus’ first new facility to open under the Ventura County Community College District’s (VCCCD) bond construction program. Heery serves as program manager for all current VCCCD construction.

Designed by California-based Nadel Architects, the approximately 40,000 square feet project comprises a two-story student services building and a one-story food services building at the heart of the 118-acre campus’ main quad. The user-friendly complex will be the first point of contact for new students.

Administrative services—admissions and records, matriculation, counseling, financial aid, student health services and more—will be consolidated into one building in order to serve as a one stop shop. To accommodate future growth, the facility is designed to serve 11,400 students, about 40% more than are currently enrolled. The project was completed three months ahead of schedule thanks, in part, to Heery’s use of Construction Detailing Activity (CDA).

The construction project was a part of the district-wide Measure S program, funded by a $356.3 million bond passed by Ventura County voters in 2002.

Heery is organized on a regional basis with 30 offices located throughout North America.
