The new 245ft new Columbus superyacht will feature a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, and is designed to accommodate 10 guests and 24 crew members.
According to Design Studio Spadolini, the new yacht has been designed following the current trend of a vertical bow, besides offering some new approaches in the stern area. A few simple clean lines integrated into the design offers a clean and linear look to the yacht.
A spacious owner’s suite with a private en suite living room, a sun deck, a gum mid ship and a swimming pool on the lower aft deck constitutes the living area of the yacht. The decision of placing the pool on the lower aft deck was made to meet the requirements of the client, who wanted to be close to the surrounding sea. The gym has been placed in place of the lateral tender garages mid ship. The tenders area is located forward just before the bow, and is housed under the deck. The owner suite looks backwards with its private en suite living room and sun deck. The touch and go helipad is on a retractable platform.
Columbus 245 is engineered to reach a maximum speed of 18 knots and can cruise at 16 knots, powered by two Caterpillar 3516 B DITA-SCAC engines. The new yacht is still at a planning stage.
