The renovated facility will feature a FieldTurf playing surface and will comprise a seat capacity of 4,500. The home and visitors bleachers will be shifted 15 feet behind their former positions as part of the upgrade work to match up with Ohio High School Athletic Association norms. The home bleachers will comprise of 260 backed seats.
Other features of the revamp work include construction of a new home press box. The student area in the southern portion of the facility, known as Rage Cage, with a seat capacity of 1,000 will also undergo a facelift through the use of old aluminum procured from old bleachers. In addition, the upgraded facility will feature a larger number of restrooms as well as a new concession stand behind the north end area of the facility.
Construction work commenced in May 2011 and is expected to be completed by early August.
