With the addition of 16 new private patient rooms, the hospital’s complement of private rooms will reach to 81. Other planned improvements for the sixth floor include addition of energy-efficient windows, increasing computer access, and expanding physician work areas.
Pekin Hospital is currently completing a $750,000 construction project to replace air handling units within the hospital, as well as a $277,000 modernisation of patient elevators to improve energy efficiency and to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
The renovation is aimed at improving patient privacy and comfort. Construction is scheduled to begin this month and is expected to complete by the end of 2013.
Pekin Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and is a recipient of the Lincoln Foundation for Excellence Silver Award.
