The Bromley store uses a combination of ceiling-recessed ambient and spot-lighting, with under-shelf lighting. Ambient lighting is provided by LuxSpace 19W fixed, recessed down lighters, with a color temperature of 3,000K. Accent and graphic lighting from 11W fixed, and adjustable spotlight with a 20 degree beam (2,700K) also forms part of the lighting solution.
The higher lighting levels required for work surfaces are achieved by additional eW Profile 3,000K under-shelf lighting, using 4.5W, 10W and 20W fittings according to the needs of each location.
The new installation is expected to achieve 50% savings in lighting energy consumption, with a reduction in carbon emissions of two tons per annum. Additionally, the low heat output of these LED fittings will also reduce air conditioning requirements, thereby enabling further energy savings during summer.
The project is one of a range of energy-saving measures rolled out across Greggs’ portfolio, which comprises over 1,400 stores nationwide.
