PLASA 2012 is inviting entries from the manufacturers and their representatives for nominating their products to be judged across eight categories for innovation. The one or more most outstanding products will win a ‘Gold’ Award.
The panel of experts from across the industry will judge the products on the parameters, which demonstrates a new style of thinking, improving technical practice or taking a key step forward in terms of safety.
The products will be judged on new and original thinking; novel ways of harnessing new technologies, materials or techniques; showing fresh perspectives and improvements in technical practices; original concepts that qualify for new patents or unique intellectual property or any mechanism for the improvement of safety across the workplace in the entertainment sector. The Awards for Innovation also include a special recognition to environmentally sensitive products.
The PLASA Sustainability Award will also judge the products against the parametres of substantial reduction in power usage for its particular product type or application; show a real reduction in the environmental impact of a product lifecycle or make significantly effective use of renewable energy resources.
Each nominee will have the opportunity to present their product to a panel of judges, with video footage of the presentations to be made available to all the nominees after the show.
All the manufacturers and their representatives can display their nominated product at the Innovation Gallery, located at the centre of the Show in Earls Court 1 alongside the PLASA Bar. The names of the winning manufacturers (or products) will be announced in a special ceremony on 10 September 2012, at 6pm in the PLASA Bar in Earls Court 1.
