The Plumen 002 has a more sculpted shape than the Plumen 001, which was designed by Samuel Wilkinson and Plumen’s in housedesign team. The new bulb is also naturally dimmer, making it perfect for more relaxing or intimate spaces.

The Plumen 001 received global media attention and picked up some of the world’s most coveted design awards, not to mention recognition by the MoMA, V&A and Cooper-Hewitt design collections. The product now sells in 47 countries and helps shape a new attitude towards low energy bulbs.

While the Plumen 001 was designed for ‘general use’ the new Plumen 002 has a dimmer bulb making it suitable for ambient, winddown rooms and spaces.

The Plumen 002 have been launched with money raised on crowd-funding website Kickstarter.
To create the new shape, the Plumen design team worked with Texan neon sculptor Tony Greer, who created sketches and prototypes, so the Plumen design team could observe the effects of irregular chambers on the luminosity and texture of light. Thedesign was also inspired by the work of British artist Barbara Hepworth.
