We humans have long fanaticised about our own destruction – and about what life would be like in a dystopian future, after an apocalyptic event such nuclear war has decimated humankind. Post-apocalyptic visions abound in film, literature and comics, and now, if you happen to be in Hong Kong, you can go for a drink in a post-apocalyptic-themed bar too.

Set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic bunker, Apocalypse Postponed is described as ‘an immersive site specific art bar installation’ and was conceived by Hong Kong artist Nadim Abbas as part of this year’s Art Basel festival. The bar will feature a changing nightly programme of performance, bands and DJs and serving cocktails created by the artist.

Abbas has created a bunker-like space with sand bags and blacked-out windows which, although it’s clearly a bit of fun, does look oddly frightening – especially those cocktails!
