The 24-storey office buildings were designed by Philip Johnson and span over a total area of 1.36 million square feet. The complex includes One Post Oak Central, which was completed in 1975; Two Post Oak Central, completed in 1979; and Three Post Oak Central, completed in 1982. The US Green Building Council awarded Post Oak Central points for programs for recycling, green cleaning, water reduction and energy efficiency.
The buildings feature wide and narrow alternating bands of silver reflective glass and charcoal anodised aluminum, creating a distinctive architectural statement with its continuous-curved corners. The exterior of each building features a black glass and steel with the lobbies containing black slate and gray marble offering panoramic views of the park and fountains.
The 17-acre business and retail complex also includes a 90,000-square-foot retail center and parking for 4,200 cars. The buildings also feature a host of amenities including a fitness center, child care center, banking, deli and catering services, and parking services that include an automobile detail shop, flat tire changes, dead battery starts, and books on tape.
The Galleria-area office complex is owned by an affiliate of Crescent Real Estate Holdings LLC of Fort Worth. Hines served as the developer of the project.
