The project involves installing men’s and women’s restrooms inside the terminal building, laying a new tile floor and adding new furniture. A six by 40 feet covered porch will be also be added outside the building. The renovation project also includes the addition of a new metal roof, new siding and stonework on the terminal’s exterior walls. An extension will also be constructed on the building’s east end which will allow for records storage.

Coates Brothers Construction has been awarded the contract for the makeover. The Federal Aviation Administration is funding 95%of the project’s cost. The state matched 2.5%, and the remaining local match is covered through airport land acquisition by the city.

Coates Brothers will have to complete the project in 90 days once work begins.
