IN A TRANSFORMATIVE DESIGN PROJECT, Thirdway Interiors has reimagined Fenwick’s workspace following the closure of its historic flagship store on Bond Street, a landmark for 133 years. Its new office, located at 103 Wigmore Street, is designed to serve as a ‘home away from home’ for Fenwick employees, facilitating a seamless transition from their long-standing previous location.

With Fenwick’s commitment to providing a tailored and seamless user experience for clients, Thirdway has mirrored this ethos within the new office, creating varied working environments that cater to diverse working styles and neurodiversity needs. Key features include two break-out spaces adjacent to the main desk area, high desks and booth seating, each thoughtfully designed to accommodate different preferences.

Recognising the significant role the original Bond Street location played in Fenwick’s identity, the design firm has crafted a scheme that honours this legacy while establishing a modern and dynamic workspace. The design integrates historical elements ensuring employees remain connected to the brand’s rich heritage. Notably, bar stools and banquette seating from the Bond Street location have been repurposed for the welcome area, creating an immediate sense of familiarity. A gallery wall featuring vintage photographs of the Bond Street building further enriches the workspace, engaging both employees and visitors.

Throughout the space, Fenwick’s iconic brand green is prominently displayed, particularly in areas adorned with rich jewel-green tiles, seen at the arrival bar. To complement this, Thirdway incorporated warm opulent colours such as ruby red and jet black. The thoughtful use of velvets, faux leathers and ceramics adds depth, resulting in an elevated and cohesive design.

‘Designing Fenwick’s new workspace was an exciting challenge that allowed us to blend modern design elements with the brand’s storied past,’ comments Caroline Watson lead designer, Thirdway. ‘Our goal was to create an environment that not only reflects Fenwick’s heritage but also fosters creativity and collaboration among employees.’
