To design a detached house according to their basic needs to live in the countryside
How did the brief affect the materials and design choices?:
The house is almost accidentally rooted in these hills. Because the spontaneous absorption by the landscape is often deeper than every voluntary action.

Essentially, by simplifying our choices
Can you explain the layout of the project:
The house has been interpreted as a lens through which seeing the landscape. Placed on the hill, the house is crossed by some large openings, so that the eye can pass through them, by framing shapes and horizons of the roman countryside. The house places a filter between its internal space and the landscape, a pause between a volume and a surface. It is a shell, which attenuate the transition between the inner space and the outer one.
What problems or challenges did you face?:
Above all, economic challenges.
What do you feel were the most unusual design elements of the project?:
The house is characterized by the presence of a shell, which envelopes it. So the building has 2 roofs: the flat roof protects the house from the rain while the sloping roof, shades the house from the sun.
How do you think this project is pushing design forward? What makes it special?:
I think the creation of a waiting space. The house places a filter between its internal space and the landscape, a pause between a volume and a surface, which attenuate the transition between the inner space and the outer one. Man’s life passes in this space of transition, in this extension of the house and in this moving back of landscape. After all, Modern Architecture was born under the Portico of the Innocenti.
