First, Mapei KERAFLEX MAXI super single-part flexible adhesive was used to install Schlüter®-DITRA matting. A thin bed of adhesive was required to install the membrane throughout the reception, stairs, corridors and toilet floor areas. R W Tyler then installed Solus Ceramics porcelain tiles over the mat with Mapei KERAQUICK rapid-set flexible adhesive.
Together the flexible adhesives and Schlüter®-DITRA provide an uncoupling layer to protect the finished floor from any stress cracks resulting from substrate movement.

The tiled floor was then grouted with Mapei ULTRACOLOR PLUS in Cement Grey (one of 26 colours available), to complement the dark grey tiles. The flexible fast-setting adhesive was particularly suitable for these areas due to its anti-mould and dirt-repellent properties.
The finished floor is a distinctive running-bond pattern comprised of 3 sizes of tiles, providing a highly aesthetic environment for the leading pub chain’s offices.
Mapei’s Adesilex P9 adhesive in white was then used for installing wall tiles. A band of lighter coloured porcelain tiles was applied with the non-slip, extended open time adhesive in kitchen areas above sink and worktop areas.
Again tile joints were grouted with Ultracolor Plus in Cement Grey.
