In addition, it is planned that an area will be planted with trees in order to create a woodland/orchard within the school site. The entire project will cost in the region of £100,000 and Qubiqa is one of a number of local benefactors and charitable organisations supporting this worthwhile scheme.
Qubiqa Ltd is sited quite close to the school and we can often hear the children at playtime and lunchtime, enjoying the outdoor space in the playground. We knew that they were encountering problems with playing outdoor sports on a small, often waterlogged area close by and wanted to help.
When Qubiqa heard about the scheme to provide a new all-weather playing field, we immediately felt that this was the sort of local scheme we wanted to donate to and get involved with. We feel it is important to support a scheme which will help towards the healthy development of children and young people through sport in their local community.
Head Teacher of Sheddingdean School, Richard Benton, said “We are so grateful for this donation from one of Burgess Hill’s local firms. It is good to know that local business can still support a school in these tough financial times.”
