The new Singapore Lounge has replaced the previous business and first class facilities which Qantas shared with British Airways at the airport, following the termination of the carriers’ Joint Service Agreement.
The Singapore Lounge was designed to complement the destination. It can seat 460 guests, and features 20 showers, 80-inch television screens, and technology pods located across its zones.
Qantas has also partnered with consulting chef Neil Perry to design menus based on his Rockpool food philosophy and popular restaurant Spice Temple, with dishes inspired by regional cuisine and flavours. The food offering available in the lounge is designed to complement the new Qantas International Sleep Service featuring new mattresses and duvets in business class. Passengers can select from a range of options from the plate of the day in a communal dining area, food from the live cooking station, extensive buffet, or a snack at the bar.
The new lounge is seen as a key part of the airline’s renewed push into Asia, following the formation of the alliance with Emirates. It is open to Qantas business class customers, as well as Platinum One, Platinum and Gold Frequent Flyer members, Qantas Club members and eligible Oneworld customers.
