Raffles Makati will be housed in a new 30-floor tower, which will include 32-suite Raffles Makati; Raffles Residences, with 237 one- to four-bedroom residences for private ownership; and 280-room Fairmont Makati, reports Elite Traveler.
Designed by Singapore-based Bent Severin & Associates, the suites will be spread over the ninth and tenth floors of the new tower. The contemporary look of Raffles Makati routes inspiration from Manila’s own blend of old world charm and new world sophistication. The design also draws heavily from Raffles Hotel Singapore. Each of the hotel’s 32 large suites exudes calm with large floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views over the city. They feature wooden flooring, covered with rich silk velvet and hand-tufted rugs.
The Raffles’ Long Bar will be a prominent feature of the new hotel. Closely resembling the Raffles Hotel Singapore design, it will feature tropical punka fans; an atmospheric black, ivory and terracotta tiled floor; long-stemmed ceiling fans and a 45-foot-long bar.
The restaurants and bars in the new complex will be open to guests of both Raffles Makati and Fairmont Makati. These include all-day dining restaurant, a contemporary pastry boutique, two lounges, as well as the Long Bar and a Writers Bar.
Additional amenities include two large outdoor swimming pools, each with a wading pool, children’s pool and poolside lounges, Willow Stream Spa with five treatment rooms and a full service hair and nail salon. A fitness centre will also be included.
Elite Traveler reports that with the opening of Raffles Makati, Raffles Hotels & Resorts will have nine hotels and resorts from the flagship Raffles Hotel in Singapore, to China, Cambodia, the Seychelles, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Paris.
