The hospital’s existing out-patient and diagnostic areas will be redesigned and refurbished as part of the project. It will also include making currently disused wards operational as clinics and a GP practice.

The design is near completion and building work is due to start in November 2012. Most of the services are being moved to other locations while the work is carried out. Once the supporting diagnostics services are back in place, the UCC will become fully functional, which is scheduled by March 2013.

All other services and the rest of the site will remain closed until work is completed by June 2013. Croydon Health services are working with private contractor Millers HPS on the project.
