The GBP30 million ($45.46 million) school is shortlisted in the innovation category of the award. The school built by Cube Design was opened in September 2009.
The building features non-symmetrical staircases, thermal see-through roof, a glass lift and an orange box which incorporates library and resource centre.
The building will enter the national finals, if it wins the competition. Constructing Excellence and the Chartered Institute of Building will organize the national final.
The award recognizes innovation in finding technical and environmental solutions to common issues.
