The Rockwell Group and The Rug Company have collaborated to introduce a new hand-knotted rug collection titled Flow as Form.
This partnership has resulted in three new designs that are said to ‘capture the ever-changing nature of water in an elegantly tonal palette, incorporating varied pile heights to sculpt movement and add depth and texture to any interior’.
Architect and designer David Rockwell, founder and president of the Rockwell Group, said: ‘Throughout our creative collaboration with The Rug Company, we’ve explored an obsession with nature’s contrasts. These new rug designs continue in that vein, looking at all the forms that water can take: from placid and solid, to rippling and rushing. We really see the patterns as textile landscapes, and creating them with The Rug Company is a joy because their craftsmanship and intricate detailing brings the designs to life.’
The rugs are handmade by The Rug Company’s weavers in Nepal. Using wool and a silk-like fibre drawn from the bamboo plant, the weavers make a chunkier knot than average, which is said to give a luxurious texture to the rugs.
