The hospital is located on The Children’s Hospital campus at Legacy Emanuel in Portland. The project has been developed by Standard and Walsh Construction Company and involves removal and reclaiming of all waste materials. The revamped facility is equipped with new finishes like green flooring, carpet tiles resembling green grass, low VOC-paints as well as adhesives.
The upgraded building also features formaldehyde-free kitchen cabinets, solid surface countertops, window coverings, lighting fixtures, electrical, plumbing and new appliances which run low on energy consumption. The living room has been fitted with a flat panel television and a video entertainment system with a Kinect system following the makeover. The dining room and bed room have also received an overhaul as part of the project.
