Located at 1061 Boston Post Road in Rye, the Rye Free Reading Room has completed a renovation scheme to give a new look to its second floor. The project has removed the sterile steel stacks from the floor and has completely retrofitted the area to adhere to the modern requirements.
The space houses a small meeting room and two large reading rooms, of which one houses the biography collection while the other features a dedicated teen space. The biography space has a new quiet space and meeting room for small gatherings such as study groups, book clubs or other individuals.
The newly renovated Teen Centre, which occupies a part of the second floor of the building, features brand new Apple desktops, comfortable couches and a flat screen television, two iMac terminals, as well as a casual seating/game area.
