According to the deal, Clear Channel Airports will provide “ambient digital art” at all SFO terminals to showcase the uniqueness of the “Gateway to the Pacific,” which is the San Francisco Bay Area. The digital art will also guide air passengers travelling through California’s second busiest airport.
The ambient digital art would be realised through a storytelling backdrop using imagery and illustrations, inspired by famous quotes referencing familiar Bay Area locations, landmarks, neighbourhoods and personalities. In total, 30 digital installations are expected to be installed which will feature latest in out-of-home technology.
The partnership concept includes $100, 000 annually in media contributed by Clear Channel Airports to promote tourism and local business organisations in the San Francisco airport and $80 million in revenue to the airport during the deal’s eight-year term. The concept will offer one-of-a-kind program where horizontal and vertical architecture reveals and surfaces will become natural alignments for media elements and signage to ensure that the new program appears naturally into the terminal architecture. The flexibility of new digital program will also allow organisations and sponsors to tailor campaigns and reach specific audiences through premiere packages geared towards the business traveller, tourists and conventions visitors.
