Drew Smith of Two Trails has partnered with Josh Wynne to execute the project. The new house is claimed to have recorded the highest points amongst LEED Platinum certified homes in the world by employing several green measures such as installation of PV panels which produce energy and use of recycled building materials and water efficiency measures.
The house features concrete blocks equipped with foam insulation and programmable LEDs. Its flooring dons polished concrete finish whereas troweled clay constitutes the finish of the walls in its interior portion.
The building has made use of materials having high percentage of reclaimed content during the construction process. Recycled materials have also been used to build the house’s kitchen cabinets. In addition, an overhanging roof serves as a shaded car parking area in the Power Haus instead of a garage to avoid wastage of materials.
The house has bagged Aurora Awards in 13 categories during the Southeast Builders Conference.
